I can't believe it has already been over a year since I last posted! I'm going to start writing on my blog again because.....
We're Pregnant! (Pretty much everyone already knows)
But I wanted to start up again so we can have all the memories of our new adventure. First things first- how we found out I was pregnant. We started trying in August, 2010, and I was so excited that the first month I thought for sure I was. But when I took the test and it was negative, I was really sad and disappointed. So from that moment on, every month I didn't get my hopes up at all and just assumed I wasn't. A couple months passed, and it was November. Isaac and I went up to Bear Lake with my parents for our own little Thanksgiving. I went up a couple days earlier with my mom to get the cabin all ready to go. We woke up Wednesday morning, and I had a crazy dream that all my teeth rotted and fell out. I have heard that when you have that dream it can mean you are pregnant. My mom had a feeling that whole week that I was, but I still just had in my mind that I wasn't, and said that the dream could also mean a lot of other things. So over the next couple of days, when I would wake up I would feel sick to my stomach. My mom kept saying that I was pregnant, and I kept telling her that I wasn't and I was just feeling sick from all the food we had eaten up there. Isaac and I left on Friday afternoon, and on the car ride we were talking about that I might just be. So when we got home, I decided to take the test. I really wasn't too excited because for some reason I still thought I wasn't and it was just going to get our hopes up again and we would be disappointed. So I finally looked and it was positive! We were so excited, but I wanted to take another one just in case..... I know that's crazy because if it's positive, it's positive. But I wanted the reassurance. And that one came back as positive too! I wanted to wait to tell anyone for a little while, but as soon as I talked to my mom on the phone a couple of days later, she asked if I was. And I couldn't lie, so I told her and my dad, then we told Isaac's parents. and then I just couldn't hold it in and started telling more family and friends!
I called our Doctor to set up our first appointment in the beginning of December. We couldn't go in until January 11, 2011. I couldn't believe how long we would have to wait- I was so anxious! But this was the only time she could see us for an afternoon appointment. So luckily the holidays were coming up, and we kept busy with lots of family stuff. Our appointment finally arrived yesterday, and we were so excited. We got to hear the heart beat, and it was amazing! It really hit me that there is a baby in there-this whole time I haven't really felt that I was actually pregnant (besides all the nausea). It was such a cool feeling. We are so excited and now anxious to find out if it will be a boy or girl so we can start decorating the room. :)
